Ahmedabad railway station launches digital luggage lockers, making travel more convenient

Passengers travelling through Ahmedabad's Kalupur Railway Station can now store their luggage safely and explore the city without worry, as the Railways has launched a new Digital Luggage Locker facility from June 10.

The modern service was formally inaugurated during a special programme attended by senior railway officials, who also reviewed the functioning of the system.

The digital lockers have been introduced as part of efforts to enhance passenger amenities and bring technology-driven services to the station. 

The facility is expected to benefit travellers arriving from other cities, passengers waiting for connecting trains, and those carrying heavy luggage who are unable to move around freely.

With the new system, passengers can securely deposit both small and large bags in automated lockers and retrieve them whenever needed. This will allow travellers to spend time shopping, sightseeing, attending meetings, or completing other work in Ahmedabad without the burden of carrying their luggage.

According to railway authorities, the Digital Luggage Locker service offers a safer, more convenient and technologically advanced alternative to the traditional cloakroom facility, ensuring a hassle-free experience for passengers.
