Ahmedabad Police destroy liquor worth ₹2.31 crore seized in prohibition cases

On Wednesday, Ahmedabad Police destroyed Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) and beer worth more than ₹2.31 crore seized in various prohibition-related offences across the city’s Zone-7 jurisdiction.
Police said liquor seized in cases registered at seven police stations: Ellisbridge, Vejalpur, Sarkhej, Vasna, Satellite, Anandnagar and Bodakdev, was destroyed after obtaining permission from the competent courts.
Officials stated that a total of 80,896 bottles, beer tins and quarter bottles of IMFL collectively valued at ₹2.31 crore were destroyed during the operation.
The destruction process was carried out on the service road located near the overbridge between Ujala Circle and Sanathal Circle in the Sarkhej area. Police said the seized liquor stock was systematically arranged and verified before being destroyed by crushing the bottles with a road roller.
