The Ahmedabad police arrested six persons after a video of them recklessly driving luxury cars and SUVs on SG Highway on August 25 went viral.

The video showed around 10 people  in SUVs and luxury cars taking control of the road on SG Highway and driving without a care. .

SG-2 traffic police took cognisance of the rash driving video that one of the accused shared on social media.

Based on the car registration numbers and the video, the Ahmedabad city traffic police and crime branch staff arrested six youths, who had  performed stunts on SG Highway. The police have seized five cars.

According to preliminary interrogation, Manish Goswami, a resident of Vastral, who is abscoding, recently purchased a new car. To celebrate, on August 18, his friends performed stunts on the highway with several cars.

Senior police officials have acknowledged the negligence on part of police officers and TRB personnel who did not intervene to stop the drivers.. Authorities have instructed that appropriate action be taken against the staff involved.
