Ahmedabad plane crash: PM Modi holds meeting at airport after visiting crash site, meeting survivor

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in Ahmedabad after the tragic crash of Air India AI171 flight on Thursday, held a meeting at the Ahmedabad airport to review relief and investigation efforts.
PM Modi arrived in Ahmedabad on Friday, and was received by Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel along with others.
Upon arrival, the he first visited the crash site, followed by a visit to the Civil hospital where he met the injured victims and the sole survivor Vishwash Kumar Ramesh of the plane crash.
The crash occurred on Thursday afternoon when an Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, operating as Flight AI-171 from Ahmedabad to London’s Gatwick, crashed shortly after take-off.
The aircraft, carrying 242 people, including 230 passengers, 10 crew members, and two pilots, plunged into a residential complex near BJ Medical College’s boys hostel.
Air India later confirmed that all crew members and passengers except one had died in the crash.
