Ahmedabad plane crash: 11 bodies identified today, nine handed to families

In the aftermath of the Ahmedabad plane crash, 11 more bodies have been identified today, out of which 9 bodies have been handed over to their families.

DNA sample analysis is under process by three FSL teams to identify those who lost their lives in the accident. So far, blood samples of 248 relatives have been taken.

On Friday, eight bodies were identified, however, those turned out to be of residents of the plane crash site. 

A total of 164 teams of experts and assistants have been deployed in BJ Medical College, Trauma Centre and Postmortem Room, which are assisting through various medical departments. Arrangements have been made for 192 ambulances and 591 team members to transport the mortal remains to their relatives.

Also, 230 team members have been appointed and special arrangements have been made for the delivery of the work to the affected districts.

Total 100 IMA doctors and local residents are also helping in the relief and rescue efforts and 1300 units of blood have been collected in the blood donation camp.

More than 600 phone calls are being coordinated with the Civil Hospital, SEOC, Police and 108 for assistance.
