As Ayodhya’s Ram temple is all set for the consecration ceremony, security is heightened in sensitive areas in states across the country.

Amidst the atmosphere of excitement and celebration in Gujarat, the police brace up with patrolling and security in some areas to maintain peace.

Numerous programmes, including a live screening of Ram temple consecration, Ram dhun, rallies, and other religious events, are scheduled for Jan 22 in the state.

Central intelligence agencies alerted the states that, among the festivities, anti-social elements may try to disturb the peace.

The police amped up security in sensitive areas of Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Bharuch, and Surat.

Sensitive areas are under watch through patrolling, and virtual spaces of social media are also being analysed by the cyber cell amid the festivities.

Security agencies and intelligence agencies of the state and centre are on high alert in the run-up to the consecration to detain anti-social elements that try to hinder peace.

While half-day holidays have been declared for government offices across the state, the holidays of the police force have been cancelled.
