Following the heavy rains this week in Gujarat, the inflow of water into the Dharoi Dam on the Sabarmati River is continuously increasing.

At present, the water level at Dharoi dam is 188.18 meters, and the storage is at 82.62% capacity. Considering the water released from the dam in the last 24 hours and the current water level of the river at Subhash Bridge, a high alert has once again been declared for the Sabarmati River on Tuesday.

Water released from dam

At present, 52,358 cusecs (unit of flow) of water is being released from Dharoi Dam into the downstream of the Sabarmati River, which is expected to reach Subhash Bridge shortly. In view of this, a White Signal (Alert) has been issued at the Subhash Bridge.

From Sant Sarovar, 87,343 cusecs of water is being released into the downstream, and the release will be gradually increased.

From the Vasna Barrage, 35,326 cusecs of water is currently being released into the river, and this release will also be gradually increased. A total of 27 gates have been opened at the Vasna Barrage, with gate numbers 3 to 29 opened for free flow.
