An incident of alleged hooliganism by anti-social elements has surfaced in the Vastral area, where a decorators’ shop was vandalised and staff members were threatened with death threats. The entire episode was captured on CCTV cameras installed at the premises.

According to a complaint filed with the police, 28-year-old Natha Taviyad, who works at the shop, stated that the incident occurred around 7.30 pm on Friday. A man reportedly arrived in a black car, stepped out carrying a wooden stick and entered the shop.

The accused allegedly abused the staff and demanded to know the whereabouts of the shop owner. When told not to use foul language, he smashed the shop’s glass panels. He is also accused of issuing threats, allegedly saying, “Today I will kill you and your boss.”

Fearing for his safety, the employee left the premises and informed the owner’s son before approaching the police. An investigation has been initiated, and officers are examining CCTV footage to identify and trace the accused.

The complainant has alleged that the accused has been involved in multiple incidents of vandalism and assault over the past decade.
