Ahmedabad metro sees decline in passengers in October due to Diwali vacation

The Diwali vacation affected Ahmedabad metro ridership in October as metro passenger numbers fell by around 15% compared to September.
A total of 3.96 crore passengers travelled by metro this year, the mark is expected to cross 5 crore at the end of the year.
According to data, 38.19 lakh passengers travelled by metro in October. In comparison, 44.83 lakh passengers were recorded in September. In September, the average daily ridership was around 1.50 lakh, which dropped to 1.23 lakh in October.
Sources said that in the last week of October due to holidays in schools, colleges and several offices the number of metro passengers had decreased. Last year too, there was a noticeable drop in metro ridership during the Diwali month.
