Ahmedabad man booked for blade attack over old rivalry in Behrampura

A 26-year-old labourer was allegedly attacked with a sharp-edged weapon and sustained injuries to his hand and chest following an altercation linked to an old dispute in Behrampura area late on Tuesday night. Danilimda police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
The incident took place at around 11.30 pm on June 2 near Chamunda Mata ni Chali in the Behrampura locality.
Nikhil Kishanbhai Solanki, a resident of Chamunda Mata ni Chali, stated that he was standing outside his residence when the accused, identified as Jayesh Bhalabhai Rathod of Hemtaji Maharaj ni Chali, approached him and began speaking about an old dispute between them.
Solanki told police that he asked Rathod not to engage with him. However, the accused allegedly became agitated and attacked him with a sharp blade-like object. The victim sustained injuries to his right hand and the left side of his chest.
The accused fled the scene immediately after the assault. The injured man was subsequently rushed to Ahmedabad Civil Hospital in a 108 ambulance, where he received medical treatment.
After obtaining medical attention, Solanki approached Danilimda police station and lodged a complaint against Rathod.
Police have registered an offence and initiated an investigation. Officers said statements of witnesses, including the victim’s family members, would be recorded as part of the probe.
The accused had not been apprehended at the time of filing and efforts are under way to trace him.
