Ahmedabad man assaults wife for refusing money to buy bike

A 32-year-old woman from Ahmedabad has lodged a complaint against her husband, accusing him of physically assaulting her after she allegedly refused to give him money to purchase a new motorcycle.

According to Satellite police, the incident took place on the morning of May 21 at the couple’s residence in the Jodhpur area of Ahmedabad.

Rinkaben Dholi, told police that she lives in Jodhpur Gam area along with her four children and works as a garbage collector in the Satellite area. She stated that her husband, Prakash Dholi, had recently arrived in Ahmedabad from Rajasthan and had been staying with the family for the past few days.

The accused allegedly demanded money from her to buy a new motorcycle. When she informed him that she did not have the money, an argument reportedly broke out between the two.

The woman alleged that her husband began verbally abusing her before assaulting her with a stick and striking her on the right side of her head with an object, causing a bleeding injury.

Local residents reportedly alerted the 108 ambulance service, following which the woman was shifted to Sola Civil Hospital for treatment. Doctors treating her reportedly found an injury on the right side of her head.

After receiving medical treatment, the woman approached the police and filed a formal complaint against her husband. Satellite police have registered a case and initiated further investigation into the matter.
