Ahmedabad man arrested for secretly filming minor girl in trial room at Palladium mall

A 27-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday after he was caught allegedly recording obscene videos of a teenage girl inside the trial room of a clothing showroom at Palladium Mall in Vastrapur, police said.
As per the FIR lodged at Vastrapur Police Station, the complainant mother, stated that she, her husband and their daughter had gone to the Max showroom in the mall around 3 pm to shop for clothes. When her daughter went into the trial room to try on outfits, she noticed someone filming her from beneath the changing cubicle using a mobile phone.
The girl raised an alarm and seized the phone, on which she found four videos of herself changing clothes. The accused was identified as Ravi Sureshbhai Prajapati (27), a resident of Odhav.
The complainant and her husband immediately alerted the showroom’s floor manager and later called the police helpline. The accused was detained on the spot and handed over to the police, along with his phone, which contained the videos.
Police officials confirmed that an FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. “The mobile phone has been seized and sent for forensic examination. The accused has been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway,” an officer said.
The incident has sparked concern among shoppers, with parents demanding stricter monitoring of mall changing rooms and immediate preventive measures by retail outlets.
