Ahmedabad LCB arrests Rajasthan man in Ghatlodia burglary case, jewellery worth ₹38 lakh seized

The Local Crime Branch (LCB), Zone-1, has solved a house burglary case in the Ghatlodia area of Ahmedabad earlier this month and arrested a 24-year-old man from Rajasthan. Police said stolen gold and silver ornaments worth ₹38.23 lakh have been seized.
The burglary took place between the night of January 22 and 25 at House No. A/9 in New Nikita Park Society, Ghatlodia. According to investigators, unidentified persons gained entry into the bungalow by opening a ventilation window from the rooftop and decamped with gold and silver ornaments.
Following the complaint, Ghatlodia police registered an offence under Sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
CCTV analysis leads to a breakthrough
Police Sub-Inspector G K Chavda and his team examined footage from over 200 CCTV cameras in and around the locality. During technical analysis, investigators identified three men on a motorcycle bearing registration number RJ-12-NS-1847 seen stationed outside the complainant’s bungalow around the time of the offence.
Further intelligence gathering and field surveillance led to the arrest of one of the suspects, along with housebreaking tools and stolen property. The arrested accused has been identified as Dinesh Haliya Meena (24), a resident of Dungarpur district of Rajasthan. He is stated to be working as a driver. Police said the accused has been remanded for further interrogation to ascertain his involvement in other offences.
From the possession of the arrested accused, police seized:
Gold jewellery worth ₹37.39 lakh
Silver jewellery worth ₹84,255
A motorcycle valued at ₹30,000
A mobile phone worth ₹10,000
The total value of the seized property stands at ₹38.63 lakh, officials said.
Police have identified two other accused who are currently absconding:
Kamlesh, son of Gangaram Kalasuwa, resident of Dungarpur, Rajasthan
Ishwar Shankar Meena, resident of Dungarpur, Rajasthan
Efforts are under way to trace and arrest them.
