The Ellisbridge police have registered an offence against the manager of a hotel for allegedly failing to upload mandatory guest details on the Ahmedabad City Police’s ‘Pathik’ software, in violation of the Police Commissioner’s order.

Mahendrabhai Patidar (40), administrator of Hotel Bhavya located in Ellisbridge area, was booked under section of the Gujarat Police Act for non-compliance with prescribed norms.

The officials were conducting routine inspections of hotels in the area. Around 6 pm, the team inspected Hotel Bhavya and questioned Patidar, who identified himself as the hotel’s manager and administrator.

During verification of records, the officers examined the hotel’s guest register and cross-checked entries with the ‘Pathik’ software (a digital platform titled ‘Police Hot Analysis of Traveller and Hotel Informatics’, developed by Ahmedabad City Police for monitoring hotel guests).

Police found that certain guest entries recorded in the physical register had not been uploaded to the Pathik portal, as mandated. As per the Police Commissioner’s order, all hotels are required to install a computer with internet connectivity at the reception counter and ensure that guest details are uploaded online in real time on the Pathik software.

Police have alleged that Patidar, who oversees the hotel’s administrative functioning, neither ensured compliance nor informed the nearest police station about the lapse.

Following the inspection, Ellisbridge police registered a case and initiated further investigation. Officials said further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
