Ahmedabad fire department seals eight hotels and hospitality establishments over fire safety violations

The Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES) on Saturday sealed eight hotels and hospitality establishments across Chandkheda, Naranpura and Paldi as part of a citywide enforcement drive against violations of mandatory fire safety norms.
Officials said the action was taken by the Fire Department's West Zone to enforce compliance with fire safety regulations and minimise the risk of fire-related incidents in commercial establishments. The department has intensified inspections across the city following repeated directives to ensure that hotels, restaurants and banquet facilities adhere to prescribed safety standards.
According to officials, the establishments were found to be operating despite deficiencies in fire safety compliance. They will remain sealed until the shortcomings are rectified and the required fire safety clearances are obtained from the competent authorities.
The establishments sealed during the drive are
1. Hotel Nilkanth located in Chandkheda owned by Kuldipsinh.
2. Hotel Philips located in Chandkheda owned by Prakashbhai Patel.
3. Hotel Sunstar Inn located in Chandkheda owned by Harishbhai Patel.
4. Kahani Progressive Restaurant & Banquet located in Chandkheda owned by Ankitbhai Panchal.
5. Hotel Aram Orchid located in Paldi
6. Hotel RK Regency located in Naranpura. owned by Jivrajbhai.
7. Hotel Green Fortune located in Naranpura owned by Gaurang Patel.
8. Hotel Pacific Empire located in Naranpura owned by Ravi Patidar.
Fire department officials said similar enforcement action would continue against establishments found violating prescribed norms, adding that public safety remains the department's foremost priority.
Officials further stated that the affected establishments would be permitted to resume operations only after all fire safety deficiencies are addressed and the necessary approvals are granted following inspection by the competent authority.
