Ahmedabad film director missing after plane crash, DNA sample taken

A film director from Ahmedabad’s Naroda area has been reported missing, and it is suspected that his disappearance may be linked to the Air India plane crash that occurred in Ahmedabad on June 12.
The missing filmmaker has been identified as Mahesh Kalawadia, also known as Mahesh Jirawala. He was a resident of the Naroda area and was known for producing music albums.
His wife, Hetal, stated, “On June 12, he had gone for a meeting in the Law Garden area. He called me at 1.14 pm saying the meeting was over and he was on his way home. But when he didn’t return, I tried calling him multiple times.”
However, his phone was found to be switched off. A police complaint was filed, and during the investigation, it was discovered that his mobile phone’s last known location was just 700 m away from the crash site. Around 1.40 pm on Thursday, the time when the plane crash occurred, his phone lost network connection.
Currently, neither his car nor his phone has been located. “We have submitted a DNA sample,” his wife said, “so that authorities can identify if he was among the victims who died on the ground during the crash.”
