Ahmedabad faces water supply shortage for next 10 days due to canal repair work

The Amdavad Municipal Corporation has issued a public notice regarding a possible water shortage in several parts of the city over the next 10 days.
According to the notice, Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Limited is carrying out RCC lining repair and maintenance work on the Narmada South Canal. Due to this work, the canal water level will fluctuate, resulting in reduced water availability at the Kotarpur Water Works.
As a result, sufficient water supply may not be possible from the Kotarpur Water Works, leading to shortages in various water distribution stations across the city’s West Zone, New West Zone, North Zone, South Zone, and Central Zone.
The civic body stated that water distribution will be managed based on the available supply, and additional borewells will be used wherever necessary to minimize inconvenience to residents.
The Engineering Department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has appealed to citizens to use water carefully and avoid wastage during this period.
