An Ahmedabad-based manufacturer of digital meters and automation equipment has lodged a police complaint alleging that a long-serving manager siphoned off raw materials, electronic components and machinery worth over ₹18.45 lakh over several months. The accused allegedly went on leave and failed to return to work after discrepancies were discovered during an internal stock audit.

Vijaykumar Chunibhai Dobariya (Patel), 40, a businessman and director of VB Tron Automation Pvt. Ltd., which operates from Vishala Estate on the Odhav SP Ring Road.

He and his business partner, Brijeshbhai Nandalalbhai Cambodia, run the company. Around ten employees work at the unit, including Sahil Rameshbhai Gajera, a resident of Nikol, who had been employed as the company's manager for the past eight years.

The directors reportedly became suspicious after noticing a decline in production output over an extended period. On May 28, 2026, they conducted a detailed review of the firm's stock, production and sales registers. During the audit, they allegedly discovered substantial shortages in inventory accumulated between November 2025 and May 2026.

The total value of the allegedly missing materials has been estimated at ₹18.45 lakh

When questioned about the discrepancies, Gajera failed to provide a satisfactory explanation. Shortly thereafter, he allegedly went on leave and did not return to work, further raising suspicions among the company's management.

Based on the complaint, Odhav police have registered an offence against Gajera and initiated an investigation.
