The District Education Officer (DEO) has sought documentary evidence for financial transactions worth over ₹7.31 crore from Seventh Day Adventist School, which is currently under government administration following the murder of a student earlier this year.

The school has been under government administration for the past few months, with the city District Education Officer (DEO) acting as the appointed administrator.

The DEO, now acting as the administrator of the school, has written to the principal seeking details and supporting documents for more than 70 transactions flagged during scrutiny of accounts for the financial years 2024–25 and 2025–26.

Officials said a previous notice had been issued to the school management seeking explanations and records, but as the response was found to be inadequate, a fresh directive has now been issued.

According to the notice, clarification has been sought regarding an allocation of ₹23 lakh made to a BBA college operating on the campus, including reasons for the payment and why the amount was not returned. The DEO has also asked for details of bank accounts to which certain funds were transferred and the purpose of such transactions.

In addition, the administration has asked for proof of payments ranging between ₹5 lakh and ₹10 lakh made towards school rent, as well as documentation for ₹2.81 crore reportedly spent on textbooks.
