LRD constable with cyber cell, his PI accused of money extortion in Ahmedabad
A cyber cell official had asked for ₹10 lakh from an accused to unfreeze his account and not register the case

Ahmedabad’s Anti-Corruption Bureau has caught Hardeepsinh Parmar, a Lok Rakshak Dal (LRD) constable who was allegedly taking a bribe of ₹3 lakh on Oct 26.
The bribe was asked by the LRD constable Parmar to a resident of the western part of Ahmedabad, identified as Rakesh Trivedi, who was himself involved in a cybercrime case. His account with the Federal Bank was frozen due to the involvement in the crime.
Parmar had promised him to unfreeze his bank account and not register a complaint against him in lieu of ₹10 lakh.
In a video that surfaced online, Rakesh Trivedi, accused Parmar and his PI Jadeja of extorting money from him.
Complainant’s video surfaces
Trivedi, in the video, reportedly stated that police and other agencies were also harassing him. Parmar and his superior PI Jadeja were asking for ₹10 lakh, according to Trivedi’s video.
The video also implied that Trivedi had paid ₹6 lakh in instalments, and the Parmar-Jadeja duo were constantly demanding money from him, even going to Trivedi’s house and threatening to file a case against him.
Trivedi also hinted at taking his own life in the video, saying that he doesn’t have money anymore and cannot do anything about it. Reportedly, Trivedi also held Parmar and Jadeja responsible for everything.
ACB nabbed Parmar on Oct 26
According to earlier reports, Parmar had already received ₹7 lakh in instalments. However, he was constantly asking for the remaining ₹3 lakh from the complainant, which led Trivedi to complain against Parmar in the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB).
The ACB then set up a trap near Shahibaug Telephone Exchange on Oct 26 to catch the constable red handed. Singh was caught taking the amount of ₹3 lakh.
The ACB has detained Hardeepsinh Parmar on a four-day remand and has started interrogating him.
