Accused Jayesh and Bhavik

The Ahmedabad Crime Branch has arrested two key suspects in the brutal murder of Naishal Thakor, whose killing in the Paldi area earlier this week sent shockwaves across the city.

The arrested men have been identified as Jayesh alias Chandu Rajubhai Thakor (24), a resident of Thakorvas in Shahwadi, and Bhavik alias Bholu Dhanjibhai Makwana (21).

According to senior Crime Branch officers, the duo were picked up late on Saturday night following a swift operation based on technical surveillance and local intelligence. They were produced before the Paldi police on Sunday and formally handed over for further investigation.

Naishal Thakor was attacked with sharp weapons in a public place in Paldi on September 12, in what police believe was an act of revenge rooted in an old personal enmity. He died on the spot from multiple injuries.

Officials said the interrogation of Jayesh and Bhavik will focus on their roles in the conspiracy and the identities of other possible accomplices. Police are also probing the source of the weapons used in the murder.

“The arrests mark a crucial breakthrough in the case,” a senior officer told Gujarat Samachar Digital, adding that the investigation will continue to track down any remaining members of the gang and to uncover the precise motive behind the killing.

The two suspects are expected to be produced in court for police custody remand on Monday.
