An Ahmedabad-based couple has lodged a police complaint against three neighbours, accusing them of repeated harassment, verbal abuse and issuing death threats following a dispute in their residential society near Nehrunagar Crossroads in the Satellite area.

According to Satellite police, the accused have been identified as Darshan Pankajbhai Shah, Jaimeen Pankajbhai Shah and Upaben Shah, all residents of Saptakiran Society in Satellite.

The complainant, Purviben Sanghvi, 50, who works as a counsellor at a training centre in Navrangpura, alleged that the dispute began on May 2 when a sanitation worker employed at her residence informed her husband about an argument involving the accused.

Purviben’s husband approached the accused to question them over the alleged altercation with the worker, which reportedly escalated into a heated verbal exchange. The accused subsequently began targeting the family through repeated arguments, verbal abuse and intimidation.

The accused allegedly threatened the complainant and her husband, warning them to vacate the locality and allegedly threatening to enter their house and kill them.

Purviben further alleged that the accused would frequently shout abusive remarks from their residence, pass comments whenever she stepped outside, and deliberately create disturbances whenever guests visited their home. She also claimed the family was repeatedly harassed over trivial issues, causing mental distress.

Police said the complainant approached the authorities after repeated attempts to resolve the matter amicably allegedly failed.

A case has been registered and further investigation has been handed over to the investigating officer at Satellite Police Station.
