Ahmedabad couple abandons infant during treatment in hospital, police book parents after baby’s death

In a tragic incident in Ahmedabad, a four-day-old infant died after parents allegedly abandoned it at a hospital mid-treatment.

Nikol Police registered a complaint against the couple, Pravin and Jaya, for ignoring care towards their infant, who was admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Civil Hospital of Ahmedabad.

The couple admitted their 4-day-old infant on August 6. The doctors shifted the infant to the NICU. However, on August 23, the infant died during the treatment. 

Following the death, the doctors learned that the couple was missing and never visited the hospital during the span of the treatment. The hospital authorities informed the police, who have registered a complaint against the parents.
