Ahmedabad civic body seals 12 units for littering, use of banned plastic

The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has sealed 12 commercial units across north-western parts of Ahmedabad for violations, including public littering and use of banned plastic.

The action was carried out in areas such as Bopal, Bodakdev, Thaltej, Gota, and Ghatlodia following inspections by the civic body’s Solid Waste Management Department.

During a two-day drive, officials inspected 155 establishments, issued notices to 126 units and collected fines amounting to ₹1.46 lakh. Around 15 kg of banned plastic was also seized during the drive.

Of the 12 sealed units, seven were shut for spreading dirt in public places, while five were sealed for using prohibited plastic materials.

Those facing action include Mahakali Restaurant, Icon Salon and Makeup Studio, Hargovindas Jewellers, Moonlight Shop, and Ramadhani Mobile.
