Ahmedabad buyer promised Toyota Innova with huge discount, duped of ₹23 lakh

A local resident has lodged a police complaint alleging that he was cheated of ₹23.7 lakh in a purported car purchase that never materialised.
Dharmeshkumar Patel (37), a resident of Sarkhej, told police that he had intended to purchase a Toyota Innova Crysta ZX top-model car. He said he was introduced to the accused, Dilipsinh Jadeja, by a friend, who assured him a discount of ₹7.4 lakh on the vehicle.
Patel stated that on March 29, 2025, Jadeja took him to Axis Bank at Sarkhej Signature Building, where Patel transferred ₹23.7 lakh via RTGS to an account held in the name of Shreem Global Impex. Jadeja promised the car would be delivered within a week but failed to do so.
Despite repeated calls and follow-ups, Patel said Jadeja neither delivered the car nor returned the money, providing only excuses about account issues. “The accused gained the victim's trust by promising a hefty discount and then took my money without any intention of delivering the vehicle,” said Sarkhej police.
The complaint has been registered at Sarkhej Police Station, with authorities initiating an investigation into the alleged cheating and fraud. Police have urged anyone with information regarding Jadeja or Shreem Global Impex to come forward.
