Bomb scare at Ahmedabad airport

Amid a rising number of bomb threats reported across the country, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPI) in Ahmedabad and two schools in Surat, received emails containing bomb threats on Tuesday.

Police have begun an investigation into both the incidents.

Ahmedabad Crime Branch received the threat email to bomb the airport, after which police and the bomb squad reached the site and began a thorough search.

Following safety protocols, passengers and staff at the airport were moved to safe locations while the entire airport was checked.

Further details are awaited.

In a related incident, Surat police also received an email threatening to bomb two schools in the city, specifically mentioning GD Goenka School and Lancers Army School. Following the email, Surat police promptly reached the locations.

As a safety measure, students at both schools were given a holiday for the day, and bomb squads were deployed to search the premises. However, nothing suspicious was found during the investigation.

Earlier today a bomb threat email was also received at Sri Guru Ram Das Ji International Airport, Amritsar.

Following the email threat the security was heightened at the airport. On July 18, the iconic Golden Temple also received a similar threat, alarming the authorities
