Ahmedabad airport runway to shut for six hours on May 6 for maintenance

Operations at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad will be partially impacted on May 6, as one of its runways will remain temporarily closed for scheduled maintenance work.

According to an official advisory, runway 05/23 will be shut between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm to carry out pre-monsoon maintenance and repair activities. The move is part of routine safety checks aimed at ensuring smooth and efficient airport operations ahead of the monsoon season.

Airport authorities said the planned maintenance is essential to maintain passenger safety and operational efficiency. During this period, flight schedules may be adjusted, and passengers are advised to check with their respective airlines for updates.

The airport has sought cooperation from travellers, stating that such periodic maintenance is necessary to uphold safety standards and avoid disruptions during adverse weather conditions.
