Ahmedabad airport authority nabs man with fake passport
Gujarati man travelled from US to Gujarat on fake passport without any hindrances
In yet another case of Gujaratis involved in illegal immigration, authorities at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPI) in Ahmedabad nabbed a passenger on the morning of Feb 12 who flew from the US on a fake passport.
Narhari Patel, a resident of Palsana in Kalol who flew into Ahmedabad airport on a Qatar Airways flight on Feb 12, underwent an immigration check.
His passport mentioned the name Narhari Patel, but the immigration records showed the passport to be registered in the name of Mohammad Wasid Ghori of Rajasthan’s Churu.
As per police officials, Patel flew to the US on a fake passport with the help of his agent. The incident may reveal another modus operandi of agents facilitating illegal immigration in Gujarat.
The airport police have arrested Patel, and further investigation has been initiated.
Last month, the Ahmedabad Airport police apprehended an individual named Pankaj Patel, from Jhulasan village in Kadi taluka of North Gujarat for document forgery and violation of passport regulations.
