Ahead of local polls, BJP begins candidate selection process in Ahmedabad

With the local self-government elections slated for April 26 in Gujarat , the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified efforts to finalise its candidates in Ahmedabad. The party officially began its feedback-based candidate selection across parts of the city from Thursday. Ticket aspirants gathered early in the morning to present their claims before party observers.

As per the scheduled programme, the process started at 9.30 am at Kheti Bank venues across the city. City BJP president Prerak Shah was present to oversee the proceedings and guide party workers. He reviewed the process and interacted with potential candidates.

On the first day, there was noticeable enthusiasm among party workers and aspirants. Today, the process is being conducted for wards including Jodhpur, Vejalpur, Sarkhej, Maktampura, Chandlodiya, Sabarmati, and Ranip. In the evening, aspirants from Chandkheda ward will get an opportunity to register their candidature.

Since early morning, large crowds of aspirants and their supporters were seen at venues like R K Hall on Science City Road and Kheti Bank in Naranpura. A particularly high turnout was observed for Chandlodiya ward, with many party workers arriving early to stake their claim, creating a charged political atmosphere.
