A bomb threat email sent by an unidentified person triggered a major security alert at a Ahmedabad Rural court in the Navrangpura area of Ahmedabad on Monday.

This comes after the Gujarat High Court received a bomb threat email on Monday.

According to officials, the threat warned that a rural court building in the area would be blown up. Soon after the email was received, police teams, along with the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and the Dog Squad, rushed to the spot.

As a precautionary measure, authorities evacuated the entire court premises. Judges, lawyers, court staff and clients present in the building were asked to leave immediately, and the complex was cleared.

Security personnel began a thorough search of the building, with every floor and section of the court complex being inspected by the bomb disposal and dog squads.

Senior police officials, including personnel from the Navrangpura police station, were deployed at the site and entry to the premises was restricted during the search operation.

A probe has been launched to trace the origin of the email and identify the person responsible for sending it, officials said.

It is worth noting that this is the third time the rural court has received a threat in the last three months.
