After Delhi fire case, AMC issues notices to 53 hotels and restaurants over fire safety violations

The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC)'s Fire and Emergency Services Department has issued notices to 53 hotels and restaurants across the city over fire safety-related issues during a two-day inspection drive, officials said.

The inspections were carried out following a recent fire incident at a hotel in Delhi.

According to officials, fire safety certificates had expired at 41 establishments. The units had not renewed their certificates after conducting the required fire safety inspections.

At 12 other establishments, officials found deficiencies in fire safety arrangements, including leaking pipes, empty water tanks, damaged valves and inadequate emergency exit facilities.

The inspections were conducted at hotels, restaurants and banquet venues in various parts of the city.

The establishments issued notices include Hotel Vishala, Hotel Lake Palace, Pride Hotel, Z Banquet, Hotel Vivaan, Pizza Hut and Patel Restaurant, among others, officials said.

The fire department said further action would be taken in accordance with applicable regulations.
