After Ahmedabad, student stabbing in Bhuj: One-sided lover attacks two outside college

After Ahmedabad’s horrific Seventh Day School murder case, where a Class 8 student killed a Class 10 student, Gujarat has seen yet another homicide attempt by a student in Kutch.

Mohit Sidhpura stabbed Sakshi Khaniya (19) and Jayesh Thakor (22) outside Sanskar college over a personal dispute.

Khaniya, a Gandhidham native,  stays at a guest house in Bhanushalinagar in Bhuj and studies at Sanskar college. After her college hours, her friends, Sidhpura and Thakor, arrived on a motorcycle to meet her.

As per preliminary reports, a personal dispute emerged among them regarding Thakor and Khaniya’s relationship, with Sidhpura stabbing both his friends.

Reports suggest that he was allegedly in one-sided love with Khaniya. The police arrested the accused late at night on the same day after he fled the scene, stabbing his friends.

The injured students were rushed to the hospital. The A Division police have seized a motorcycle and a murder weapon (knife) from the spot.

Dhiraj Solanki, in-charge principal, said, “The incident took place around 5.45 pm outside the college compound. We request the police to take necessary action to avert such incidents in the future.”
