After 10 suspected hashish packets, BSF now finds Pakistani fishing boat on Kutch coast

The Border Security Force (BSF) found an abandoned Pakistani fishing boat while patrolling the creek region along the India-Pakistan marine border, after at least 10 packets of suspected hashish washed ashore Kutch coast.
Officials said a team of the BSF found a deserted fishing vessel, which is believed to have originated from Pakistan. Fishing equipment was recovered from the boat, but no occupants were found.
Authorities said Pakistani fishermen often stray into Indian waters near the Kutch coast during the fishing season due to the abundance of fish in the area. In some cases, fishermen reportedly abandon boats and flee back across the border when patrol activity intensifies.
The discovery came shortly after 10 packets of suspected hashish were recovered from the Narayan Sarovar coastal belt during a joint search operation conducted by local police and the Special Operations Group (SOG).
Officials said the packets were found near Sugar Bet on Tuesday. Earlier recoveries in recent days included 30 packets from Khidrat Island, Shialbara and Motapir Bet, as well as nine packets from Panchotia and Rapargarh coastal areas.
Security agencies said the repeated recovery of narcotics along the Kutch coastline coincides with the onset of pre-monsoon sea currents, which often carry contraband towards the shore.
Authorities estimate that narcotics worth crores of rupees have been recovered from the Kutch coast over the past three years, prompting heightened vigilance in the region.
