Accused jumps in Tapi to escape police, search on with boats

A film-like incident has come to light from Surat,  where in an attempt to evade the police, an accused escaped by jumping into a river. 

While the police were escorting him, the accused seized the opportunity and jumped into the water, eventually reaching a small island in the river.

As soon as the incident was reported, the police informed the fire department through the control room. Firefighters rushed to the spot, and along with local residents, they began a search operation using boats to locate the accused.

The incident has also exposed a lapse in police vigilance.
