ACB seizes 550 bottles of illicit liquor from Ahmedabad’s Paldi

The Ahmedabad Crime Branch has seized 550 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth approximately ₹7.5 lakh from a society in the Paldi area. The accused were allegedly supplying liquor to local residents in violation of Gujarat’s prohibition laws. An investigation has been initiated.
Crime Branch Police Inspector I N Dhasu received an intel regarding illegal liquor trade being conducted in Pinakin Society, located on Narayan Nagar Road in Paldi. According to the tip-off, a man residing in the society was storing and distributing liquor to nearby residents.
Acting on this information, the police apprehended Rajesh Darji along with Mahendra Prajapati and Dinesh Darji. A search of their premises led to the recovery of 550 bottles of IMFL valued at ₹7.5 lakh.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Rajesh Darji, a resident of Kubernagar, had rented an apartment in Paldi, where he operated the liquor distribution network with the help of Mahendra Prajapati and Dinesh Darji. They allegedly got liquor from Ramesh Jat, a supplier based in Barmer, Rajasthan.
The police have launched a detailed investigation to trace the full supply chain and uncover any additional links.
Earlier, in two separate incidents, the Ahmedabad Crime Branch had seized a total of 1,228 liquor bottles, where it was similarly discovered that the accused sourced liquor from Rajasthan.
