ACB arrests AMC TDO over disproportionate assets worth ₹67 lakh

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Ahmedabad has arrested an assistant town development officer (TDO) in the East Zone of Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC). ACB officials have detected assets worth ₹67 lakh, 30% higher than the TDO’s legitimate income.
An inquiry was initiated by the ACB against Ketan Jashvantlal Rami, who serves as an assistant estate officer and TDO in the East Zone, over allegations of disproportionate assets.
The investigation found that between April 2012 and March 2019, Rami had acquired assets worth ₹67.13 lakh—around 30.45% more than his known sources of income—through illegal means during his government service, in his own name and that of his dependents.
Following the discovery, ACB registered a case against Rami and arrested him. Further proceedings will be carried out in connection with the case of amassing illicit assets during his tenure. Meanwhile, the public has been urged to report any instance of government officials or employees demanding bribes to the ACB’s toll-free number 1064.
