AAP’s Isudan Gadhvi to lead symbolic fast to protest CM Kejriwal’s arrest
Aam Aadmi Party's Gujarat unit, led by state president Isudan Gadhvi, will hold a symbolic one-day fast on Apr 7 to protest against what they claim as the wrongful arrest of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the excise policy case.
The event will be held at the party's state office on Apr 7.
Manoj Sorathiya, the general secretary of the AAP's Gujarat unit, said, “No matter how much the BJP ‘misuses’ the ED and CBI, Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP will never succumb to their pressure.”
The fast will be observed from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) said that Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal is the ‘kingpin and key conspirator’ in the now-scrapped excise policy case in collusion with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ministers, leaders and other persons.
Kejriwal, who was sent to ED custody on Mar 22 by a Delhi court till Mar 28, was directly involved in the conspiracy of formulation of the excise policy to ‘favour certain persons’ and also involved in the ‘demanding kickbacks from liquor businessmen’ in exchange of favours granting in the said policy, the probe agency claimed.
The policy in question was being drafted considering the favours to be granted to the 'South Group' and was formed in collusion with Vijay Nair, Manish Sisodia, and members-representatives of the ‘South Group’.
