AAP worker held for allegedly selling country liquor in Ahmedabad

The Ahmedabad Crime Branch has arrested a man accused of illegally selling country liquor during a raid in the Amraiwadi area of Ahmedabad.
Police identified the accused as Sachin Singh Rajput, a resident of Sakar Bungalows in Amraiwadi. Rajput is said to have been associated with the Aam Aadmi Party and had previously contested the Amdavad Municipal Corporation elections, though he was unsuccessful.
According to officials, Crime Branch personnel were patrolling the Amraiwadi area on Saturday evening when they received information that country liquor was being sold in Shivanandnagar. Acting on the tip-off, police conducted a raid and allegedly found Rajput in possession of a quantity of country liquor, which he was reportedly selling locally.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the accused had been involved in selling country liquor in the area for several months.
Following the raid, the Ahmedabad Crime Branch handed Rajput over to the Amraiwadi Police Station, where a case has been registered against him under prohibition laws.
