The Met Department has predicted rainfall in its second round in Gujarat. According to the forecast of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in many districts of Gujarat for the next five days.
Rain has been predicted in many districts of the state, including Saurashtra and South Gujarat. Moreover, a red alert has been issued in three districts of Gujarat due to rain.
Heavy rain forecast in many districts
The state has forecast heavy rains with thundershowers for five days in many parts of Gujarat, including Saurashtra, south Gujarat, and Kutch. Heavy rain is predicted in Jamnagar, Amreli, and Gir Somnath. Districts of south Gujarat, including Valsad, Navsari, Surat, Dang, Dadra Nagar, and Haveli are also likely to receive rain. Moreover, heavy rain is also predicted in Mundra, New Kandla, and the Navlakhi areas of Kutch.
23 water bodies in the state are on high alert
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea for the next five days due to heavy rains. Apart from this, due to heavy rains, new water has come into many reservoirs. The gates of many dams have been opened, due to which many villages have been instructed not to move towards the river bed. According to the IMD, 23 out of the 206 water bodies in the state are on high alert. While 15 are on alert and 10 are on alarm level.
