ISKCON bridge-like accident in Surat, reckless driver rams car over 5 people
The driver was overspeeding his car on the BRTS route
Days after Ahmedabad’s deadly ISKCON bridge accident, a similar incident happened in Surat on the night of July 30.
The driver, reportedly identified as Sajan Patel, alias Sunny Patel, was overspeeding his car in Surat’s Kapodra, near Mudra society. Patel rammed his car over two pedestrians and three bikers; one of the bikers was thrown 20 feet away.
The victims who suffered serious injuries are identified as Vivek, Kishan Hirpara, Rushit, and Yash. The driver was allegedly under the influence of alcohol while driving. Before handing over the driver to the police, the onlookers of the incident thrashed him. The reports say that Patel was overspeeding on the Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) route, which caused the whole accident.
