9-year-old boy drowns in resort swimming pool near Jamnagar
A tragic incident took place near Jamnagar when a 9-year-old boy named Harsh Kirit Parmar, from Gandhinagar drowned in a swimming pool at a holiday resort near Jambuda Patiya on the Jamnagar-Rajkot highway. The accident occurred while the child was spending time with his family during a vacation. Despite immediate rescue efforts, the boy could not be saved.
The deceased was identified as Harsh Parmar. Harsh had come to Jamnagar to visit relatives and enjoy his holidays. During the visit, the family decided to spend the day at a resort located near Jambuda village, where they planned to enjoy a picnic and swimming activities.
While bathing in the resort’s swimming pool, Harsh reportedly moved into a deeper section of the pool. Unable to stay above the water, he began to drown and swallowed a large amount of water.
Family members and resort staff immediately rushed to help him. They pulled him out of the pool and tried to resuscitate him before taking him to Guru Gobind Singh (GG) Government Hospital in Jamnagar for emergency treatment, where he was declared dead.
Officers from the Panchkoshi A Division Police Station reached both the resort and the hospital to investigate the matter. Police officials carried out preliminary inquiries and recorded statements related to the incident. The body was taken into custody and sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to understand how the accident occurred and whether all necessary safety measures were in place at the resort.
