78 talukas receive rainfall in 24 hours, heavy rain likely in next three days

In the last 24 hours, heavy rainfall was witnessed in Tapi district, north Gujarat and parts of Saurashtra.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced heavy rainfall today (June 23) in several districts including Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Banaskantha, Aravalli, Kheda, Anand, Mahisagar, Vadodara, and parts of southern Gujarat.

Meanwhile, Gir Somnath, Valsad, and Daman have been issued an orange alert, and Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, and Bharuch have been cautioned with a yellow alert.

It rained cats and dogs in Porbandar and parts of Rajkot today.

In the last 24 hours, 78 talukas of the state have witnessed incessant rain. The highest rainfall of up to three inches has been recorded in Tapi's Kukarmunda, Valsad, Bodeli, Nijhar, and Sagbara of Narmada.

Today, Rain or thundershowers are likely in Ahmedabad by evening/ night. The maximum temperature of the city is 38 °C.

As per the IMD forecast:

June 24:  Heavy to very heavy rains are likely in Narmada, Dangs, Valsad and Tapi. Heavy rains in Bharuch, Surat, Navsari and in Daman, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Amreli, Gir Somnath and Diu.

Ahmedabad may receive light to moderate rain on June 24.

June 25: Heavy to very heavy rains are likely in Dahod and Chhotaudepur. Heavy rains are likely in Panchmahal and Mahisagar, Amreli, Gir Somnath and Diu.

June 26: Heavy rains are likely in Banaskantha and Sabarkantha.
