Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited (TCGL) signed an MoU with Worldwide Media Pvt Ltd, in the presence of Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar on July 19. As a result, the Filmfare Awards 2024 will be organised in Gujarat.

During the MoU signing ceremony, CM Bhupendra Patel said, “Organising this award ceremony in the state will attract a large number of celebrities, filmmakers and industry professionals to Gujarat.”

Actor Tiger Shroff, who was also present at the event, said, “My grandfather was Gujarati, and my father received the Filmfare Award for Parinda, hence, I have an old relationship with both the Filmfare and Gujarat.”

The influx of visitors to boost the tourism

Talking about the effects of the Filmfare Awards coming to Gujarat, CM Patel further added, “This influx of visitors will boost tourism, the hotel industry and other activities in the state. It will also give a fillip to the local economy and generate employment.”

He also added, “The event will showcase the natural beauty, cultural heritage and infrastructure, which will attract filmmakers to use Gujarat as a backdrop for future film projects.”

A matter of pride for the state

Tourism department secretary Hareet Shukla, “Hosting the 69th Filmfare Awards is a matter of pride for Gujarat. Through the medium of film industries, there will be a new direction in representing the heritage of Gujarat at the national and international level. Gujarat has opened new doors for the development of this sector by announcing the Cinematic Policy.”
