60 girl students from SP Hostel in Memnagar fall ill after meal, food poisoning suspected

In a concerning incident in Ahmedabad, around 60 girl students from an SP Hostel in the Memnagar area were admitted to private hospitals after falling ill, out of which 18 remain hospitalised while the others have been discharged following improvement in their condition.

According to sources, the students are experiencing symptoms such as diarrhoea, vomiting and severe weakness. While some also reported high fever and vomiting.

All affected students underwent treatment at multiple private hospitals. Several have been kept under observation or treated in OPD, while a few even received care in emergency wards.

The cases have been reported over the last 24 hours, with the sudden spike in illness raising concerns among authorities.

Initial indications suggest a case of suspected food poisoning, though an official confirmation is still awaited.
