6-year-old girl attacked by leopard in Chhotaudeapur

A six-year-old girl was attacked by a leopard in the Moti Rasli village near Pavi Jetpur taluka of Chhotaudeapur district. The girl who had come to the village to enjoy her summer vacation, was attacked in the courtyard of her maternal uncle’s house.

The leopard rushed out of the bushes and attacked her. As she screamed, the family members rushed to rescue her. After the attack, the girl was rushed to the Community Health Center (CHC) in Pavi Jetpur by her family members.

The girl was immediately given first aid by the doctors of the hospital. Fortunately, the girl survived with only minor injuries to her body and her condition is currently reported to be stable.

As soon as the incident of leopard attack on the girl was reported, a team of the forest department rushed to Moti Rasli village. The forest officials visited the girl's family. They are planning to set up cages at different places in the area to catch the attacking leopard at the earliest.
