6 ministers repeated, 19 new names inducted in Gujarat cabinet expansion

The Gujarat government has announced a potential list of 26 cabinet ministers. Ditching the speculations of the no-repeat policy, the state has retained six of its ministers – portfolio announcement pending – with 19 new names getting an opportunity. The new cabinet includes three new women ministers.

Ahead of Diwali, the ministers are slated to be sworn in this noon at Mahatma Mandir, marking the first major reshuffle since CM Bhupendra Patel took charge.
Moreover, the state is also likely to get a new deputy CM as part of the expansion.
BJP legislators have been arriving in Gandhinagar, leading to a significant gathering at the MLA quarters.
On Thursday, all party MLAs were instructed to reach the CM House by 8 pm. Around 7 pm, BJP National President JP Nadda also arrived in Gandhinagar. He addressed the MLAs, offering insights and strategic guidance on governance and party organisation. There was visible excitement among the legislators, eager to learn who would secure a place in the new cabinet.
