6,500 people from Guj, MP cheated by Delhi gang over govt jobs
The Ahmedabad crime branch has arrested a gang from Delhi who cheated 6,500 people by giving advertisements in the name of six different organisations pretending to be government organisations.
Further investigations have been conducted after three persons were arrested for extorting lakhs of rupees from youths of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh by issuing job advertisements in newspapers and social media in the name of six organisations.
These included Swasthya Gramin Sansthan, Gramin Jan Swasthya Sansthan, Urban-Rural Health Welfare Sansthan, Bhartiya Krishi Gramin Anusandhan Sansthan, Rashtriya Gramin Shiksha Mission, and Rashtriya Krishi Gramin Anusandhan Sansthan from more than 6500 people received more than ₹18 lakh as fees.
In the name of Swasthya Gramin Kalyan Sanstha of New Delhi, advertisements were published in newspapers inviting applications for the post of Village Development Officer, Worker, and Assistant in each district.
Apart from creating a fake website, the recruitment advertisement was also published on social media platforms such as Facebook.
More than 6,500 people from across India including Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh filled the nomination papers. The amount of ₹2,450 was also collected online from each applicant.
Job aspirants were being asked for more money on the pretext of sending them for training. A formal complaint was registered after contacting the crime branch about the fraud.
Five mobile phones and a laptop have also been seized from the accused.
The Crime Branch, acting in East Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, nabbed Akram Asfaq Hussain Turk, Manoj Jaiprakash Sharma, and Shivshankar Vrindavan Awasthi.
A case has also been registered against Akram Turk earlier in Bhopal.
