5 killed, 26 injured as luxury bus rams truck near Vadodara

A road accident took place in Vadodara, where a luxury bus travelling from Rajasthan to Surat collided with a truck near Kotambi Stadium. Five people lost their lives in the crash, while more than 20 others were injured. Police, fire brigade personnel, and rescue teams rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations. The injured are being shifted to hospitals for treatment.
According to reports, the luxury bus was traveling from Banswara, Rajasthan, to Surat. At around 4 am, near Kotambi Stadium on the Vadodara-Halol Road, the bus crashed into the rear of a stationary truck, resulting in the accident. Local residents and passing motorists rushed to the scene to help after the collision.
The accident caused a traffic jam stretching nearly four to five kilometers. Upon receiving information about the incident, teams from the Vadodara Fire Brigade’s Panigate station and the Emergency Response Centre arrived at the scene. An NDRF team also joined the rescue operation.
Fire brigade personnel used a JCB machine to separate the bus and truck. Rescue teams then cut through the bus body panels to evacuate trapped passengers.
Five passengers died in the accident, while around 26 others sustained injuries and were admitted to the Vadodara Civil Hospital and private hospitals. Five of the injured are reported to be in critical condition. Police are managing traffic and carrying out further investigation into the incident.
