A group of 47 senior citizens from Morbi, Jamnagar, and Rajkot were stranded in Uttarakhand due to heavy rainfall while returning from the Chardham Yatra. The pilgrims were stuck near Gaurikund while returning from Kedarnath.
Reportedly, all of them were safe and provided shelter in a nearby hotel. Once the roads reopened, the stranded pilgrims began their journey from Gaurikund to Sonprayag.
According to preliminary information, the devotees were returning from Kedarnath when the roads at Gaurikund were blocked due to heavy rain. After the Rajkot Collector was alerted, he informed the State Disaster Management Authority.
The government responded promptly, contacted the devotees, and ensured their safety. The stranded pilgrims were accommodated in a nearby hotel and provided with food and other essential supplies. And as the roads were opened, they headed to Sonprayag from Gaurikund.
