4 killed in triple collision in Morbi involving container, truck, and car

A tragic road accident on the Maliya Surajbari Bridge in Morbi district claimed four lives after a triple collision involving a container truck, another truck, and a car led to a massive fire.

According to reports, the accident occurred when a container overturned on the bridge. A truck following the container attempted to change lanes, during which a car coming from behind crashed into the truck. The collision triggered a fire in both the truck and the car.

Four people, two in the truck and two in the car were killed in the incident. Fire department teams from Morbi and Bhachau rushed to the scene and managed to rescue seven passengers trapped in the burning car.

The injured victims were immediately shifted to Samakhiali Hospital, where several are reported to be in critical condition, raising concerns that the death toll could rise. The bodies of the deceased have been sent to Morbi Civil Hospital for post-mortem.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
